‘ &&  I’ve  no  doubt  you’ll  be  a  fine  ruler,  m’lady.  I  hear  good  things  ‘bout  you.  as  good  as  your  judgment  on  Jon  Snow  might  be,  he’s  still  a  bastard  by  name.  blood  of  Ned  Stark  or  not.  nothin’  will  his  status.  tone  remained  casual  as  he  leans  back  in  the  seat.  ‘ what’s  this  ‘bout  then ??  doubt  you’ve  come  all  this  way  to  sing  praise  of  Jon  Snow.

“You ‘ave no doubt in ME, yet y’ doubt HIM?”

Brows knitted into a tiny frown as she GLARED upon this man.

              “… the DEAD are comin’, M’lord. Y’ won’t ‘ave a family
AT ALL if we don’t stand up to ‘em.”

aye. he  confirmed  with  a  nod,  index  finger  curving  along  the  arm  of  the  seat.  haven’t  heard  shit  about  him,  don’t  trust  a  man  I’ve  heard  nothin’  ‘bout.  the  mention  of  the  dead  cause  him  to  raise  a  brow,  uneasy  feeling  settling  in  the pit  of  his  stomach.  he’d  heard  tales  of  the  dead  as  a  boy  stories  told  to  him  by  his  aunt.  while  many  believed  them  to  be  just  stories,  his  family  believed  it  to  be  TRUE

 ‘ how  many ??

the  meeting  was  one  he  had  been  expecting  for  a  while.  when  the  battle  of  the  bastards  waged  on,  he  backed  neither  Stark  nor  Bolton,  he  wasn’t  about  to  start  backing  them  now.  ‘ forgive  me,  lady  Mormont,  but  I  truly  don’t  see  WHY  I  should  bend  the  knee  to  a  bastard.  I  followed  house  Stark  when  Robb  Stark  called  the  banners.  I  lost  three  brothers.  one  of  them  was  just  a  boy.  who’s  to  say  whatever  war  the  bastard  fights  won’t  claim  what’s  left  of  my  family ??

“So you DID. An’ I lost my family, too, M’lord. Leavin’
ME to be LADY of this house.”

Her voice was firm, and her fists CLENCHED. No one could claim to HER that they had lost more.

“D’you think I LIKE bein’ the last of my house? But
the blood of NED STARK flows through that BASTARD’S
veins. I didn’t want to follow ‘im at first either. But he’s a
GOOD man. And his cause is TRUE.”
